Tilly Air Plants got its start at the Minneapolis Farmer’s Market in June 2014 and we have been growing ever since. We are dedicated to educating Minnesotans and visitors to our state about amazing and unique air plants. Tillandsias entered our world with a trip to California. While at a Farmer’s Market there, Kerry came upon these creature-like plants and wanted to find out as much as possible about them. After bringing back a Butzii for Kyle and Colleen, everyone was hooked and we decided to bring them to the Minneapolis Farmer’s Market. They were received really well, giving us a chance to continue providing a wide selection to choose from locally, where Minnesotan’s and visitors can find the perfect collection for their homes or as a gift.
Breathe deep, find balance in all that you do.
It started in early 2012 as we searched for fashion-forward work out pieces that were actually affordable.
We knew we could do more than what was already out there.
As a Twin Cities-based company we are inspired by both the city and nature around us and produce everything locally and always will.
We hope you join us on our journey. We believe that who you are is exactly who you should be. We recognize the importance in challenging yourself to become the best you possible, but feel that loving yourself as you are can bring you the most peace.
MAI is inspired by the women we see every day. They love being active as much as they love taking time to enjoy their day. That is why we create collections that can go with you from the yoga studio, out to dinner and end your day with you on the couch.

Black Spoke Leather Co. creates hand crafted, punk inspired, bicycle friendly leather goods. We use natural, vegetable-tanned leather and alter the color of the leather using an ancient, natural method called Vinegaroon. All pieces are cut, sewn, and finished by hand, resulting in a stronger, higher-quality product that can take a beating and gets better with age. Made in Nordeast, Minneapolis, MN.
About the Company:
This neo-heritage company merges classic craft techniques with modern aesthetics, while maintaining a visual ode to the grittiness of rock ‘n’ roll culture. Each piece starts as a chunk of natural, vegetable tanned leather and is dyed using one of the oldest leather coloring methods, vinegaroon (a natural method that uses vinegar and steel to change the chemical composition in the tannins in the leather, resulting in a soft, black hide that has the look and feel of a broken-in pair of vintage motorcycle boots). The products are then cut, punched, sewn, riveted and finished by hand.
Since the company’s launch in January 2015, Black Spoke Leather Co. goods have been seen at the American Craft Council show in St. Paul, Art-a-Whirl, and have been available in the online shop: www.blackspokeleather.com. Pompadour will be hosting a pop-up shop in collaboration with Black Spoke Leather Co. throughout the month of June.
About the Origins:
After years of attending concerts and art openings via bicycle, and bumping into people, art, and drinks while wearing her messenger bag, founder Sarah started conjuring up ideas for a small bag that would fit all of her necessities, hold her bike lock, and allow her to slip to the front of a concert without pissing off everyone in the crowd. This is how the first Black Spoke Leather Co. product, the Deluxe Hip Bag, came to be.
About the Owner:
Black Spoke Leather Co. is owned and operated by local fashion designer, Sarah M. Holm, who also designs under her eponymous label. Her work has been featured in many local fashion shows, including Voltage: Fashion Amplified, Black Hearts Ball, Retrorama, Envision, and Avoid the Grey. Although she has always worked leather into her clothing designs, she fell in love with leather craft while molding leather for her beetle-inspired line at Black Hearts Ball 2014 and showed some of her first leather goods at the Icons: Films, Fashion, and Rock ‘n’ Roll show in August 2014.
